Here’s a great gift for any chemistry geek and my favourite find of the week:
Chocolate Laxative For Small Children
Vintage tin box
This tin used to contain chocolate-coated Phenolphthalein. If you did chemistry in school, you’d know that Phenolphthalein was used as the pH indicator in acid-based titrations.
I’m a burette and you’re my pipette so let’s titrate baby. Nerd points +10000000000.
Phenolphthalein is no longer used as a laxative because they found out that it causes cancer.
Guess they shouldn’t have coated it with chocolate and fed it to children.
Measures 2.5″ by 1.8″. With hinge.
- Origin:
- England
- Material:
- Tin
