I collect things old and seldom wonder who had them before I came along. I find myself thinking how the object, now in my hand, had once looked at people, and how that has changed when it looks at me today. I also find it amazing how we have discovered so much as mankind, yet remain still so far unable to express our most vivid feelings.
Do you like old things? I do.
Yet I have very few things that truly once belonged to me. Nature and other people’s trash and treasure have come to erect an adulthood in my clenched childhood.
