Vintage acetate frames are thick because no one skimped on the acetate.

When metal frames were gold plated, they were REALLY GOLD PLATED, because gold prices weren’t so obscene.

Most eyeglass hinges had at least 5 barrels, and that meant the screws were longer too.

These mint condition eyeglasses are getting progressively harder to find in recent months. Come get a pair before my hoarder instinct kicks in!

There’s this type of party where serious men posing as sleazy men and dangerous women posing as everyday women go to. They come when the weather outside is humid and heavy and the inside of the bar is black and bright. In these places and during these parties, there is more than a possibility of wearing your shades; there is safety, in masquerade. Pet store workers, pet store owners, pet food deliverers, pet supplies suppliers, pet taxi drivers, pet hotel runners, pet clinic nurses, and of course, vets… they all come to this type of party uninitiated, without feeling the need to be invited. They just arrive, when they arrive. They order drinks – a slow one – and when they finally settle down they look around and realise they don’t know anyone there.

No tall tales but never too small for stories.
